Wynns Archive Wynns Archive This programme is compiled exclusively from 16mm film taken by Wynn's staff during the 1940s, 50s and 60s. John Wynn had been searching for these `lost' films for around 25 years and they were eventually located by his son Peter in 2006. In this programme some of the footage had been embedded with a time code and there is nothing than we can do to remove it. This programme starts with Pacific 192 moving a 130ton transformer on the last leg of it's journey from Birmingham to Uskmouth Power Station.

Wynns Archive Scammell Contractors are shown moving a 230 tons transformer using end suspension.

Wynns Archive The recovery of an eight-wheeled Leyland tipper and an Atkinson articulated unit from railway tracks using a 25 tons Coles crane is shown in addition to the recovery of a Thames Trader furniture van.

Wynns Archive The first ever 400,000 volt transformer, weighing 212 tons, is shown on trailer 789, this load required three Pacifics. Trailer 789 is also shown fitted with Air Cushion equipment.

Wynns Archive A 460 tons transformer being loaded onto a barge on the River Rhine in Germany and transported to Rotterdam. The problems of unloading it are also shown.

Around 22 different operations are featured.
