Wynns Archive Wynns Archive This programme is compiled exclusively from 16mm film taken by Wynns' staff during the 1940s and 1950s. John Wynn had been searching for these `lost' films for around 25 years and they were eventually located by his son Peter in 2006. Sixteen different moves and recoveries are shown on this DVD.

Wynns Archive One of the most unusual job Wynn's were called on to carry out was the removal of a 60 ton ship's boiler. This job had to be done in Mountstuart Dry Dock, Cardiff and involved lowering a 1940 Scammell and four tank transporter trailers, two for the old boiler and two for the new boiler, down into the dry dock. In 1957 Wynns were asked to move a Ransom and Rapier 4140 excavator, in working condition and weighing 146 tons, between two mountaintop quarries over a weekend so that it could resume work on the Monday.

Wynns Archive The Australian Government purchased two Thornycroft Mighty Antars and a 120-ton Cranes trailer for their Snowy Mountain Scheme and wanted the outfit tested before delivery. Wynns used the outfit to take a 120 ton stator from Birmingham to Uskmouth. The Australian crews, having travelled the route, opted to ride as passengers.

Wynns Archive Pacifics, Diamond Ts, Scammells, Caterpillars, Ward La France wreckers, rare Foden Drawbar and an even rarer bonneted Guy Invincible are all featured.
