The Sherwood Forest Vintage Ploughing Match 2006 Such is the reputation of the Sherwood Forest Vintage Ploughing Match that it attracts ploughmen from as far afield as Rochester in Kent and Dumfries in Scotland.

The event is held on light free-draining land, so entrants can be sure that the match will take place whatever the weather.

There was a new trophy, The Old 20 Parts Trophy, for the newly introduced Vintage/ Classic Reversible Class.

Alan Turner took the unusual step of competing with his 1947 Field Marshall, probably the first time that we have recorded a Field Marshall in use at a ploughing match.
