Ayrshire Road Run 2005 Organised by the Ayrshire Commercial Vehicle Club, the Ayrshire Road Run is a two-day event which starts with a morning rally on Ayr's Low Green, a large open recreational area on the seafront.

The 240 mile route was through South Ayrshire and parts of Dumfries and Galloway, with an overnight stop at the picturesque harbour town of Portpatrick. Fantastic weather added to the pleasure of driving through superb scenery.

The close proximity of the ferry port of Stranraer encouraged eleven entrants from Northern Ireland and Eire.

David Cuthbert's Mk V AEC Mandator was making it's first appearance having been beautifully restored in `OswaldTransport' livery. Neil James was there with his recently converted AlbionSuperClydesdale looking resplendent in it's new `Harris and Miners' livery.

AEC, Albion, Atkinson, Austin, Bedford, BMC, Commer, DAF, Dodge, ERF, Foden, Freightliner, Guy, Fordson Thames, Leyland, Morris, Scania, Seddon, Scammell and Volvo are all featured.
